One of the joys of shifting house is the lag between the day the landline goes live at the new place and the day the broadband is activated. My landline moved Tuesday last week, but the DSL still isn't going more than a week later. The good news is that it's supposed to be turned on today - fingers crossed.
The reason for the delay appears to be the way landlines are provisioned. Telecom tell me they can't forward schedule connections, so other dependent systems and services can't be queued up behind a pending order for a new line.
They appear to be happy with that. To me, it seems like an obvious area for improvement i provisioning. One that puts the customer first.
