Today's TV3-TNS poll shows a gap between Labour and National of 6 points. The latest Roy Morgan poll shows a gap of 3 per cent. Both polls show a sharp convergence in support between the two main parties. In both polls, the Green party also gained support. Saturday before last (Sept 27th), the NZ Herald published an informal poll that they titled "Swinging to the Right" despite the 43.5% result for National, which was actually one of the worst this year for them.
With today's polls in view, it may well be that the Herald's poll was an early indication of the shift that the two latest polls are also capturing.
So maybe we should call that three polls showing people becomign wary of electing a National government.
