If you're looking for a challenge, you can build the latest pre-release versions of Google's Chrome browser yourself. The best platform to do this on is Ubuntu 8.04 as that is the Linux distro that Google are using for development. It's an open source project, so they are making their source code available as they go along. You can find the details here.
