"Smears"

My daughter was once friends with a girl next door who, she discovered, was stealing things from her bedroom when she visited. We called the girl’s mother and explained our concerns. She denied it and said we could search her daughter’s room if we wanted to. We did….and we found all the things that had been disappearing from our house for weeks.

The mother was mortified. Her daughter cried and cried.

They both went out the next day and told all out mutual friends that our daughter had been stealing from THEM!

Today’s display by National reminded me of how our neighbours behaved when they were caught behaving badly. I wonder if my neighbours had hired Crosby / Textor too?

National responded to being accused of a two year campaign of smears by saying Labour was resorting to smear tactics.

If you’re caught out, tell the big lie….and blame the other guy.

Nice one.....accusing the other guy of smearing you because he dares to fight back.

It looks to me like Labour is highlighting how National has been trying to mask its policy vacuum with a campaign smearing Clark and the state sector, pandering to voter prejudice in both cases.

  1. Yes,sounds like Crosby / Textor all right.
The cheek suggesting Labour is resorting to smear tactics.
    National sure is getting desperate.
Thanks for seeking the truth on our behalf.

  2. anon: LOL! How do you explain National smearing Clark and Labour for 3 years and more and getting away with it?

All the lesbian accusations, the beatups and misrepresentations? The making much of not much?

Perhaps it is because National used elements of the ethics-free lunuatic fringe as proxies. On the left, people appear to have more integrity and there aren't any 'WhaleOils' or "Family First" nutters to lie for Labour.

The whole Section59 thing from the Right is a lie. It has been illegal since 1961 (s194(a) to assault children. The recent law change did not change that at all.

How do we account for the media so consistently getting it wrong in National's favour? I've read that law several times - old and new - and its obvious enough to me there is a clear improvement in the clarifying what is acceptable and what is not.

  3. The news media is full of closet-right puppets of the Business Round Table,Bush, Israel, oil companies, and all the other greedies.
They would get away with it but for the hard work of Nicky Hagar, Brian Edwards, Chris Trotter(?) and other truth seekers like yourself.
Why are voters so stupid that they only see the value in Labour when there is targetted assistance to them.
Idiots, but they are vital for a return of the truth and light of Labour.
