The US also wants to exempt its people from Iraqi law, give itself the power to ignore Iraqi law completely and to unilaterally conduct military operations on Iraqi soil.
At a news conference, (US State Department adviser on Iraq) Satterfield kept repeating that the US wants only to create a more independent Iraq. "We want to see Iraqi sovereignty strengthened, not weakened," he said.

Independence is occupation.
Sovereignty is colonisation.
